Upon completion of this experience, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how lab technicians contribute to industries like biotech, pharmaceuticals, materials science, food manufacturing and related fields.

  • Recognize the importance of accurate data recording and reporting in scientific work, and how these skills transfer to STEM careers.

  • Operate fundamental laboratory equipment to collect and interpret measurements using tools from analytical chemistry careers.

  • Apply professional networking and communication skills essential for success in scientific workplaces and career development.

  • Identify next steps in your laboratory sciences journey.

Applicant Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (or motivated rising high school seniors)

  • Interest in science and lab work

  • Commitment to the full one-day session
